High Flying Foods is currently looking for a Kitchen Manager and/or Lead Line Cook to complete its opening team for our Saffron Thai Restaurant in the San Diego International Airport. The ideal candidates will have kitchen management experience, or Thai Restaurant cooking experience, or restaurant line cooking experience. The selected candidate or candidates will be personally trained by Su-Mei and her talented kitchen staff at Saffron Thai before moving into the new Saffron Thai restaurant opening within the airport.
Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities:
• Manage daily kitchen operations
• Hire, train and develop kitchen staff
• Teach menu production and detail
• Enforce restaurant standards, policies and procedures with staff.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• At least 1-5 years of restaurant cooking experience.
• Strong BOH skills: ordering, prep, inventory control, product rotation
• Cooking experience in a Thai Restaurant
• Restaurant Line cooking experience or Kitchen Management experience
• Proficient computer skills; experience with Excel and POS system –Micros is a PLUS.
• Punctual and reliable attendance; flexible to work early mornings, nights, weekends and holidays.
• Ability to speak, read and write English fluently.
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with staff and rest of management team
• Ability to manage effectively in a fast-paced environment; maintain composure under adverse conditions.
• Ability to plan, prioritize and delegate workload in a fast- paced environment.
• Ability to motivate staff and maintain cohesive team.
• Ability to coach, train, discipline and mentor staff.
• Strong problem solving and team building skills.
