This is an exhilarating time to join the High Flying Foods Family! We are currently in search of an experienced, knowledgeable, and excellence-oriented Human Resources Generalist at the Oakland International Airport. **This a field position in the Oakland Airport and will require travel to Sausalito once a week**

  • 2+ years experience working in a Human Resources role
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field required
  • Human Resources Certification preferred
  • Experience working in a union environment strongly preferred
  • Experience working in hospitality industry strongly preferred
  • Must have knowledge and thorough understanding of Federal, State and local labor laws
  • Experience with Employee Relations and Conflict Resolution required
  • Experience with Recruiting and Hiring required
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook required
  • Must be passionate about HR, learning, and collaborating with various teams
  • Must have active listening skills, critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Must have the ability to anticipate company needs, potential conflicts and risk
  • Must have the ability to exercise good judgement and display exceptional decision-making skills
  • Must possess the ability to interact with people at all levels and develop rapport with individuals in different restaurant locations.
  • Must have a strong work ethic, impeccable interpersonal and organizational skills as well as excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Must possess the ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Must have the ability to prioritize and re-prioritize multiple tasks and work efficiently
  • Must be able to work both as a team player and independently
  • Must be able to sit, stand and walk for duration of shift
  • Must be able to move hands, arms and wrists repetitively throughout duration of the shift


  • Work with both HR and Operations Teams to ensure compliance for all restaurant locations.
  • Collaborate with Director Teams on-site to support employee relations, conflict resolution and employee development.
  • Advise and assist Operations Team on performance management, coaching, proper disciplinary actions and terminations.
  • Manage full cycle of recruitment, including the development of job descriptions, posting job advertisements, coordinating and conducting phone and in-person interviews, reference checks, extending job offers as well as onboarding practices.
  • Employee benefits administration for union and non-union employees
  • Manage employee offboarding process
  • Support with airport badging practices and enforcement
  • Ensure legal compliance with Federal, State and local laws and assess company risk
  • Facilitate workers compensation and leaves of absence claims
  • Maintain and audit employee files, I-9 forms, and other related documentation
